Just realized I wasted $120 on a meal delivery service that I barely used

I signed up for HelloFresh back in January because I was tired of meal planning and thought it'd save me time. The first week was great, but then the boxes started piling up in my fridge while I just ordered takeout anyway. By the time I canceled last week, I had thrown out like four boxes of wilted veggies and half-used sauces. I did the math and it came to about $120 down the drain because I never stuck to the recipes. I guess it's my fault for not being more realistic about my cooking habits, but man it stings. Has anyone else fallen for a subscription service that just ended up costing them more in the end?

Oh wait, that math doesn't quite add up (sorry, I'm a nerd about numbers). Boxes of HelloFresh are like $60-$70 each, so unless you ordered more than one or added extra meals, it sounds like it might be closer to $60-70 for a single wasted box. Still sucks though, I signed up for a snack box subscription once and ended up with a cupboard full of protein bars I never touched.

Three HelloFresh boxes rotted in my fridge before I finally cancelled that thing.

Figure out why you even signed up in the first place, @angela587? Seems like half these companies bank on people forgetting to cancel after the first free trial.
