That time I followed a late-night booking hack and wound up in the wrong country
In my experience, booking flights while sleepy to save cash can land you somewhere totally unexpected, your mileage may vary.

Late night deals can totally trick you. My buddy booked a flight to Portland, Maine thinking it was Oregon, what a mess. Double check those airport codes, folks.

Serious mix-up is right, he didn't figure it out until the pilot said welcome to Maine. Pretty sure he thought he needed a passport for that time zone jump. He had to check his own ticket to believe it. At least the weather was similarly depressing, just needed a different flannel shirt.

Man, that's the kind of mistake you only make once, right? My cousin did almost the exact same thing with a last minute hotel in Springfield, totally blanking on how many states have one. Wound up in Illinois instead of Missouri and his whole weekend plan was shot. Those three letter codes are no joke when you're tired. You really have to slow down and read the whole thing.

So, you actually boarded the plane and didn't realize until you landed? That's a serious mix-up, must have been a wild shock. What did you do once you figured it out?
