My big win was finally figuring out the local bus system in Lisbon

I used to panic and just grab a taxi from the airport, which cost me 30 euros, but this trip I downloaded the local transit app and got to my hostel for 2 euros. The change happened after I watched a YouTube video from a travel blogger who broke it down step by step. Has anyone else had a moment where a simple video saved them a bunch of cash in a new city?

My ride from the Madrid airport last year was almost forty. These companies just set the price to whatever they want now. It feels like there's no real rule for it anymore.
