A hostel guy in Lisbon asked why I book flights 6 months out, and I had no good answer
I always thought booking early got me the best price, but he pulled up fares on his phone and showed me Tuesdays 2 or 3 weeks out were often $80 cheaper to the same cities. Now I book closer in and use the savings on a hostel with actual eggs at breakfast. Anyone else had luck waiting instead of locking in early?

My buddy swears the "actual eggs" rule applies to train tickets too, bought one the day of and still made it.
