Unpopular opinion: buying your own mortar hoe is a waste if your shop already has 6
I got roasted by a guy named Dale on a job in Council Bluffs a while back for mixing with a hoe that had a crack in the handle. He said a man who won't spend $30 on his own tools won't last. So I bought one, and three jobs later the head snapped off on a Tuesday pour because the steel was junk. Meanwhile the shop hoe I'd been using for two seasons never gave me trouble once. Anybody else think the push to buy every tool yourself is just guys showing off, or am I wrong on this one?
