Just realized I've laid over 100,000 bricks on the new library project downtown

I was tallying up my weekly count and the number hit me. That's a full city block's worth of material, just from my trowel. It made me think about how much physical work goes into a single public building. Has anyone else had a job where the sheer scale of the material hit you like that?

Makes @the_elliot's uncle's courthouse feel small.

My uncle laid brick for the old courthouse... that's a lot of mortar.

Remember my friend who painted lines on highways. He told me once he measured the paint for a single exit ramp in miles, not gallons. That kind of math makes your brain hurt. Makes you see the whole world differently.
