Hot take: I quit buying new work socks 3 years ago and my sock drawer has never been better
Three years back I started mending holes in my work socks with a $12 needle and thread kit instead of tossing them, mostly because I hated how fast the cheap 6 packs wore out at my job in Duluth. Last week I counted and 14 of my original 20 pairs are still going, and the mending takes maybe 10 minutes a pair while I watch TV. My brother thinks it's weird and gross but honestly the darned ones are comfier now. Has anyone else tried darning socks or am I the only one doing this in 2024?
