Warning: The week my Calathea dropped 11 leaves and I nearly gave up on houseplants
Tbh last week was rough for my little plant corner in my apartment in Denver. My Calathea had been fine for 6 months, then right after I moved it near a new window it dropped 11 leaves in 5 days. I checked the soil, the humidity, everything, and still could not figure out what I did wrong. The weird part is my pothos and snake plant sat right next to it and did not care at all. Has anyone else had one plant melt down while the others just shrug it off?
That move near a new window could be the whole story right there. Calatheas are drama queens about light changes, and even a few extra hours of direct sun can fry them while your pothos and snake plant just soak it up. How close is the new window, and does it get any direct afternoon sun?
