I was drowning my pothos for 2 years until a guy at the plant swap in Boise flipped the pot over
He pointed at the soggy black roots and said "this plant wants to dry out between drinks, you're loving it to death." How do you all figure out the right watering rhythm for each plant without killing half your shelf first?
Is there a plant out there that actually enjoys being drowned, because my pothos sure seemed committed to the bit before I figured it out? I finally just started lifting the pots off the shelf to feel how light they got, which is way cheaper than replacing dead plants. Turns out most of mine want to dry out a bit, and the ones that don't are quick to let me know.
