I thought talking to plants was total nonsense until my basil exploded

My friend in Denver swore by it, so I tried it for two weeks with my sad little herb garden. I felt like an idiot, but that basil plant doubled in size and my mint finally stopped looking so pathetic. Has anyone else actually tried this, or did I just get lucky?

Honestly, same. Felt ridiculous chatting up my rosemary, but the thing perked right up. Guess we're both plant whisperers now.

That Denver air probably helped, but talking to plants is a real thing. It's the carbon dioxide from your breath. You're basically giving them a tiny extra boost of food. My grandma used to sing to her tomatoes, same idea. Makes you breathe on them more often, and they notice the vibration.

Your grandma's tomato songs, did she have a favorite tune?

It's nice to hear someone else's family did that too. My grandma swore by a little made-up song about red cheeks and sunshine. She said the plants could tell she was happy, and that made them happy. It's a sweet memory, even if the science is just about the CO2. Those tomatoes always did taste amazing, didn't they?
