Our club almost split over a 40 minute cut off rule, so I tried a timer trick
Our club in Cincinnati nearly broke apart last month because two members would not stop talking during discussion. We tried a talking stick, we tried assigned roles, nothing worked. Then I brought a cheap kitchen timer and gave everyone 3 minutes each to say their take, no interruptions. It felt silly at first but we got through 5 opinions in 15 minutes and nobody left mad. Has anyone else used a time limit to keep their club from falling apart?
