Spent $420 on a used mag drill off Marketplace and it saved my whole job in Gary

Picked up a used Hougen mag drill for $420 last spring when I had 60 holes to punch through 1/2 inch plate on a tank job in Gary, Indiana. My old drill press setup was eating bits and burning time, and this thing chewed through all 60 holes in about 4 hours without a single hiccup. Now I'm wondering if I just got lucky with a used one or if these things really hold up that well, anybody else buy used power tools and actually come out ahead?
