The $140 'deluxe' insert that made my game night slower

Last month I grabbed this fancy wooden insert for my favorite deck builder, thought it would speed up setup and tear down. Cost me about $140 with shipping from an Etsy maker, and honestly it looks BEAUTIFUL on the shelf. But the first time we played, everyone was fumbling with the tiny compartments and the card trays were so snug that we spent five minutes just getting the resource tokens out. My buddy Dave literally said 'this is a museum piece, not a game organizer' and we switched back to the plastic baggies halfway through the night. I feel dumb because the game takes maybe 3 minutes to set up normally, and now I have this expensive thing that just sits there looking pretty. Has anyone else dropped cash on a premium organizer or upgrade that actually made things worse for real play?
