That one guy at the con who ruined Catan for me
I was at PAX Unplugged in Philly last year and sat down for a 4 player game of Catan. This dude named Mike spent the whole game telling everyone exactly what to do on their turns, even grabbing for their pieces. After I lost because he convinced the other guys to block me, I just got up and left. Has anyone else had a stranger at a board game event just completely take over the fun?

Wadew51 hit it with the reaching across the table thing, that's such a violation of personal space and game etiquette. Mike probably thought he was being helpful but really he was just trying to control the whole board. Maybe board game cons need a simple house rule like keep your hands to your own tiles.

That guy named Mike" sounds like a real piece of work. Had something similar happen at a Magic draft once. Guy kept reaching across the table to point at my cards. Just wanted to shuffle and play not get lectured.

Three bucks says Mike had a playmat with some waifu art on it too lol. Nothing like getting a commander lecture from a guy who smells like a GameStop dumpster.
