My old coach said stop counting reps and feel them, took me 3 years to get it
Back in 2019 I was training at a gym in Sacramento and my coach kept telling me to stop counting reps and just feel the movement. I blew him off for like 3 years because who has time to feel anything when you're chasing numbers. Then last week I was doing squats and my knee started hurting so I slowed way down and actually paid attention to what my body was doing. Turns out I was shifting my weight to my right side the whole time and never noticed because I was too busy counting to 10. I fixed my stance in like 2 sessions and the pain went away. It's weird how one thing someone says can sit in your brain for years before it clicks. Now I'm wondering what else I've been ignoring because I was too focused on the numbers. Has anyone else had a coach tell them something that only made sense way later?
