The $18 streaming stick that saved my marathon night before a move

Last month I had to finish a 5-season drama before my cross-town move on Sunday, but my smart TV decided to freeze every 20 minutes with a black screen. I grabbed a cheap 18 dollar streaming stick from a Target near my place in Austin, and it ran the last 3 seasons without a single hiccup on move night. Anyone else ever had a garbage TV salvage a binge session with a random cheap gadget?
