Spent 3 years skipping the first 10 minutes of every show, then my roommate caught me
My roommate walked in last Tuesday while I was watching The Bear and asked why I kept hitting the skip button on the recap. I told her I always skip ahead about 10 minutes into any new show because I figure the start is just filler. She just stared at me and said that's where all the setup happens, and I honestly never thought about it that way. I went back and watched the first episode of Severance from the actual beginning and realized I had missed a whole chunk of the story the first time. Now I'm rewatching three shows I thought I finished and catching stuff that makes zero sense without those openings. So how do you all handle it, do you sit through the slow build or jump straight to the good parts?
Did you ever notice that a lot of shows put a cold open right before the recap, so skipping 10 minutes sometimes means you miss a scene that happens before the theme song even plays?
