The $3,000 quote that flipped my moving plans upside down
I was set to hire movers in Austin for a 2 bedroom apartment, but when they quoted me $3,000 for a Saturday move, I balked. Instead, I rented a U-Haul for $89 and asked my brother and two buddies to help, pizza and beer included. Halfway through, the dolly broke on Congress Avenue, but we worked around it with blankets and straps. Has anyone else dodged a huge moving bill and ended up with a better story?
