Compared two moving companies last month, the cheap one cost me double
Moved from Austin to Dallas in June. Got quotes from two places. One wanted $1,800 flat, the other said $950 but added fuel and stair fees later. Went cheap because money was tight. Ended up at $2,100 after they charged for packing tape and a longer route. The expensive one had included everything in writing. Has anyone else learned the hard way that the low bid never means the final price?
Used to roll my eyes at people who said always take the higher quote. Figured it was just rich folks talk, you know? Then my sister got hit with surprise fees on a cross country move and I changed my tune real quick. Reading your post just makes me more sure of it now.
