Snapped a chain tool pin on a customer's 11 speed at closing time

Did it snap right at the end of the pin or did the whole thing bend first? I ask because a bent pin usually means the chain was pushing back on you, which happens a lot on 11 speed since those plates are so thin and stiff. If it snapped clean, the tool might of been on its last legs anyway. Closing time jobs are the worst for that, you just want to go home and the tool decides to quit on you.
