Warning: I faked being happy at my sister's wedding and it hit me hard at 2am
My sister got married two Saturdays ago in Columbus and I smiled in every single photo for 9 hours straight. The whole time my stomach was in knots because I lost my job at the bakery on Wednesday and hadn't told a soul. I kept telling everyone I was just tired from helping setup. Around 2am I sat in my car in the parking garage and finally let it out. I realized I've been doing this since high school, being the happy one so nobody worries. Does anyone else feel like they can't tell family the bad stuff without ruining the good moments?
Bakery job on a Wednesday and a wedding on Saturday is some truly terrible timing, the universe really said "let's see how she handles this one." At least the parking garage at 2am doesn't judge you when you finally break.
