I let my brother tell my daughter's birth story for me and he left out the part that mattered
Honestly I asked my younger brother to tell my daughter about the night she was born because I always choke up, and he told the whole thing fine except he skipped the 3 minutes where the nurse couldn't find her heartbeat and I stood there holding my wife's hand in that little room in Akron. He said it wasn't his story to tell, which I get, but now my kid thinks it was all calm and easy. Tbh I'm not sure if I should correct it or let it stay a clean story, so how do you all decide which parts of a hard memory are worth passing on?
