Honestly, a moment at my grandpa's old farm in Nebraska changed how I keep things.

I was helping him clean out the barn last fall, and he pulled a small, rusted tin box from a beam. Inside were just a few faded photos and a note from his brother who died in the war. He said he'd almost forgotten what his voice sounded like. Now, I record short voice memos on my phone whenever I visit family, just talking about normal days. Does anyone else do something simple like that to hold onto people?

A cheap notebook in the kitchen drawer... that's so smart.

Honestly, that's a really smart way to handle it. I started doing something similar after my grandma passed. I keep a cheap notebook in my kitchen drawer and just jot down little things, like her exact recipe for potato salad or a dumb joke she always told. It's not fancy, but it helps more than you'd think. Tbh, the normal everyday stuff is what you really miss later.
