The Saturday in June when I did 23 cuts and still went home stressed
Two Saturdays back my shop in Boise did 23 cuts between me and one other guy, which is about double what we normally handle, and we cleared $610 in walk ins alone. Sounds like a dream day, right? Here is the thing though, by cut 18 my clippers were dragging, my fades were getting sloppy at the neckline, and I had to redo a guy's taper for free because I rushed it. The other side of this argument is simple, more chairs filled means more rent paid and that is real money I cannot ignore. But I keep wondering if chasing volume on days like that costs us regulars who notice when the work is not sharp. Do you all cap your books on crazy days, or do you just grind through and fix the sloppy ones later?
