Overheard a young barber say 'I don't do fades' and it got me thinking

I was waiting for my coffee last Tuesday and two barbers behind me were talking, one said he doesn't bother with clipper work at all. Has anyone else noticed more barbers sticking to just scissors and comb these days, or is that just in my area?

Oh man that reminds me of my barber who only does fades and nothing else.
