Appreciation post: The bank teller who saved me $40 in fees last Thursday
I was about to transfer money from my savings account to cover a car repair, and the teller at my local Wells Fargo branch stopped me and said I'd get hit with a $10 excess withdrawal fee each time. Instead she showed me how to link my checking account for free transfers, saving me $40 total. Has anyone else had a teller give them a heads up on fees like that?

Whoa, wait, that teller actually warned you about the fee before you did the transfer? That feels like a unicorn sighting at a big bank these days. Most places would just let you hit that button and hope you don't notice the charge later.

Depends on the bank I guess... I had a teller at Chase warn me about a fee once and it turned out she was just reading off a script they make them say before every international transfer. Felt less like a unicorn and more like a liability thing on their end. Not sure it's that deep or special.

Wait, did you actually ask her if she was reading from a script or did you just figure that out after the fact?
