Vent: My mother in law told me my sourdough starter looked 'sickly' last Thanksgiving
She leaned over the counter at her house in Austin while I was feeding it and said it had a 'funny smell', then offered to buy me a bag of yeast from the store. I had spent 3 months building that starter from scratch and it made perfect loaves every time. Has anyone else had a relative totally dismiss your baking project like it was nothing?

Brought my starter to a family reunion ONCE and my uncle asked if it was a science experiment.

Honestly sounds like your uncle was onto something there though... it kinda IS a science experiment, @linda_dixon49, just a tasty one you can eat lol.
