The church potluck that taught me to never trust a glass dish again

So I brought my famous lemon bars to the spring potluck at St. Mary's last Saturday, and I thought I'd be clever by using a glass baking dish instead of my usual metal one. Big mistake. The bars came out way too soft in the middle because glass holds heat longer, so I pulled them early thinking they were done. Then the whole thing slid around on the cooling rack and dumped lemon goo all over the carpet. Now I've got a 4-inch stain in the fellowship hall and a rule about glass vs metal for anything with custard. Has anyone else had a potluck moment where a dish swap backfired totally?
