Had to pick between a stand mixer and my old hand mixer for a huge batch of holiday cookies. Went with the hand mixer and my arm is still sore.

Come on, it's just cookies. How huge is this batch anyway? My hand mixer works fine for double batches of dough. Maybe you just need to build up some arm strength.

Went with the hand mixer" is where you lost me. For a huge batch, that stand mixer is a lifesaver. My arm would have fallen off.

Forget the mixer debate, it's about the dough temp. Hand mixing warms it up way faster. Warm dough means flat, greasy cookies every time.
