Two hundred sourdough starters in one year, did not see that coming
I started keeping a tally of every starter I made in my home kitchen back in January just out of curiosity. Last week I hit 200 on the nose, which blew my mind because I only planned to bake for my family and a few neighbors. Most of them were gifts for people who wanted to try baking, and about 60 of those came back with photos of their first loaves. Have any of you kept track of how many you give away in a year, or am I the only one with a notebook full of bread math?

Whoa, 200 starters is a lot of bread math, but I gotta ask, are you keeping a tally for the baking or for the bragging rights? I mean, a notebook full of numbers sounds like you're running a small business on the side, not just some neighborly hobby. Either way, if you enjoyed it and people got good loaves out of it, then cool, but I wouldn't break out the calculator for that.
