PSA: I stopped sorting my recycling for a month and the bin filled up twice as fast
I always crushed cans and flattened boxes because it felt like the right thing, but my bin kept overflowing by week two anyway. Then my neighbor in Tucson told me the trucks here compact everything at the curb and my sorting was just slowing me down, and honestly the bin has stayed half empty since. Is curbside sorting actually doing anything or did I just waste 4 years of squishing cans?
