Dropped $275 at a "beginner sourdough" class in Portland and learned how to stir flour

The whole 3 hour class was basically the teacher showing us her starter and then handing out printed recipes we could've googled in 4 minutes. Has anyone actually found a class like this worth the money, or is this just how it goes with hobby workshops?
