My buddy's rant about The Phantom Menace made me defend it for real

I remember reading a review back in 2012 that said the podrace was the only good part. That always stuck with me because it's totally backwards. The podrace is fun, sure, but the real meat is the politics and the Jedi stuff. People complain about the trade federation debates, but that's what makes the galaxy feel real, like it's actually a functioning place with problems. Plus, Duel of the Fates is still the best lightsaber fight in the whole saga, and nobody can tell me otherwise.
