My 9 year old nephew called Sharknado 5 a masterpiece and honestly his case was better than mine
I sat down with him Saturday to make fun of it and by the end he had me defending it to my sister. He pointed out the scene where they time travel and said "the movie knows it is dumb, that is the whole joke," which is more than I can say for half the serious movies I watched in 2024. Has anyone else been out argued by a kid about a movie you were sure was trash?

Told my buddy the same thing about Sharknado and he laughed at me. The kid has a point though, a dumb movie that knows it is dumb is doing its job. Half the "smart" movies out there take themselves way too serious and still end up worse.
