I finally rewatched Battlefield Earth after my uncle swore it was good, turns out he was right
My uncle in Fresno kept pushing me to give Battlefield Earth another shot after I ripped it apart at a family BBQ in 2022, and he said the over the top acting is the whole point. I sat through it again on a rainy Saturday and honestly the Dutch angles and John Travolta hamming it up made way more sense as a weird comedy than a serious sci fi. Does anyone else have a movie they hated until someone close to them reframed it completely?

My uncle once talked me into liking Waterworld and I still haven't forgiven him for being right. Maybe your Fresno uncle and my uncle should start a bad movie support group.
