Wasted $400 on a fancy outdoor kitchen setup that I barely use
Last summer I went all in on a built in grill, mini fridge, and sink setup for the backyard. Cost me $400 for the materials and another $200 for a guy to help run the gas line. Now it just sits there collecting spider webs. I grill maybe 3 times a month and the sink is more hassle than it's worth with the hose hookup. Anyone else regret going big on outdoor cooking upgrades?

Bet you could flip that whole setup on Craigslist for $350 and call it a "barely used, premium outdoor kitchen" and some sucker will snap it up. At least then you can buy yourself a nice Weber kettle and some steaks with the leftovers.

$400 for the whole setup? That seems crazy cheap to me (I mean, a decent grill alone can run you $600 easy). I gotta ask - where did you find materials that cheap, because around here a built-in kit with a sink and mini fridge would be triple that at least. Sounds like you got a deal even if it's not getting used much.

Tbh, I think people are missing the fact that $400 for a full outdoor kitchen setup is almost suspiciously low. Like, what's the catch here? Maybe the materials were salvaged from a demo job or something, because brand new that stuff would be way more. Ngl, I've seen people flip used kitchen cabinets from Habitat for Humanity ReStore and build outdoor setups for dirt cheap, but a sink and fridge included for that price feels like either a steal or a headache waiting to happen. Either way, it's wild how much prices vary by region, but $400 in most places would barely cover the plumbing hardware.
