Tried using leftover coffee grounds in my garden beds and the results were wild

I started dumping my morning coffee grounds around my azaleas about three weeks ago, thinking it might help with acidity. Not only did the plants look greener, but I swear the slugs completely vanished from that area. Has anyone else tried this and seen a similar pest control effect?

Wait, coffee grounds actually get rid of slugs? That's amazing!

My neighbor's garden got overrun with slugs despite the coffee.

Yeah, I heard the grounds need to be fresh and dry to work at all.
