Showerthought: my neighbor watched me build my whole fence then asked why I put the posts 6 feet apart instead of 8, and I haven't stopped thinking about it

Does your neighbor even own a fence? Because it sounds like he's got a lot of opinions for someone who was just standing there watching you do all the work. Dude stared at your whole build and waited until you were done to drop his big question, that's wild to me. Six feet is a totally normal spacing for posts, it's stronger and holds up better over time, so you did nothing wrong. He probably just wanted to feel smart or he saw one fence somewhere that was 8 feet and now that's his whole personality. I'd be thinking about it too honestly, but not because you messed up, because who does that? Next time hand him a shovel and see how fast his questions turn into silence.
