The grading guy's comment about my French drain changed my whole setup
Last month a landscaper walked my yard for a mulch estimate and said 'your drain pipe is pitched wrong, water will pool right there by the shed.' I'd laid that thing myself 3 years ago using a bubble level. Turns out I had it sloping away from the house but not enough, maybe 1 inch over 20 feet. I rented a mini excavator in Dayton and re-ran it at 2 inches per 10 feet. The first big rain after that, the outlet was actually flowing, not just trickling. Has anyone else had a pro point out a flaw you thought was fine for years?

Honestly that bubble level owes me an apology for every project I've trusted it on.
