The free pallet wood I grabbed from behind a grocery store in Fresno changed my whole fence plan
My back fence had a 12 foot rotting section and lumber prices were nuts, so I pulled apart about 15 pallets and used the 2x4s as horizontal slats. It took a solid weekend but the staggered gap style actually hides the warped boards pretty well. Did anyone else try pallet wood and find the nails were the worst part?

Skip the pallet wood trend entirely. Those boards are loaded with moisture and bugs that'll rot your fence from the inside out within a couple years. Plus the time you spent fighting bent nails and splitting boards could've been spent just saving up for pressure treated lumber that actually lasts.
