Warning: My neighbor saw my crooked fence and said something I keep thinking about
My neighbor Dale walked over while I was rebuilding my back fence in Tucson and watched me fight with a post for 20 minutes. He said his dad always laid a string line before digging a single hole, and I admitted I had just been eyeballing it. That night I ran a string from the corner post and found my whole line was off by 4 inches over 30 feet. Makes me think about how my grandpa built everything with a level and a string and never once owned a laser. Do you all still use string lines, or has everyone switched to lasers for fences?
