PSA: check your cannon plug torque before you chase a wiring ghost
Spent most of last Friday on a flaps disagree fault on a King Air 200 and the actual problem was two loose cannon plugs on the left wing root. I had already pulled the PSEU, rang out the harness pin to pin, and was about to blame the position sensor before my lead wandered over and asked if I had checked torque. Sure enough, both plugs were hand tight at best. Snugged them to spec, cleared the fault, ran the flaps five times with no issues, and signed it off before lunch. What got me was how clean the reading looked on the meter, so I never suspected a mechanical connection. Now I keep a torque wrench in the go bag and check plugs before I go down the schematic rabbit hole. Has anyone else been burned by a loose plug that read fine on a continuity check?
