Am I the only one who misses when you could actually fix a black box instead of swapping it?
Had a pitot heat fail on a King Air in Boise last week and the only repair path was pull the unit and send it back, no bench work allowed. Back in the day we'd crack the case and fix a cold solder joint in an afternoon, now it's a $4,000 exchange and two days of waiting. Anyone else seeing shops turn into parts changers instead of troubleshooters?
