Tried heat to pop a dent on a 2019 Civic fender and cooked the clear coat
Saw a guy on YouTube use a heat gun and compressed air to pop a dent, so I tried it on a silver 2019 Civic fender last Tuesday and the clear coat went cloudy in about 8 seconds. Learned the hard way that heat works on plastic bumpers, not steel panels with factory paint, so now I keep a hair dryer on low for the plastic stuff and PDR tools for metal. Anyone got a temp range they actually trust for painted steel, or do you just avoid heat there completely?
