PSA: my before-and-after of the same nebula shot 2 years apart, is this real change or just my gear?
Shot the Orion Nebula from my driveway in Reno back in 2022 with a stock DSLR and then again this week with a modded camera and a cheap light pollution filter, and the difference in the faint dust around the core is not even close. Part of me thinks the filter and stacking are doing the heavy lifting, but the other part wonders if the nebula itself actually looks different over 2 years. Anyone got a real take on how much of this is the sky changing versus my setup?
