PSA: caught the ISS flying over my backyard in Tucson on a Tuesday, now I check the tracker every night
Downloaded the Spot the Station app after my neighbor pointed it out during a BBQ, and I got a clear shot of it at 9:14pm with just my phone on a tripod. What apps are you all using to catch passes before they happen?
Caught a pass last week from my driveway in Phoenix around 8:40 and it was way brighter than I expected. I just use the Spot the Station site since the app kept bugging me with alerts at weird hours. Set a timer on my phone for five minutes before and drag the tripod out back. The good passes only last a few minutes so you have to be ready.
