I took a picture of the moon with my phone and a cheap telescope, and it actually worked.
I was in my backyard last Tuesday and decided to try my kid's $30 telescope, holding my phone camera up to the eyepiece. I didn't expect much, but I got a shot where you can clearly see a few craters. It's not Hubble quality, but it's way better than I thought possible. Has anyone else gotten decent results with a basic setup like this?

I did that with my old phone and a pair of binoculars once... you have to hold it really still. I propped my arms on a fence post to stop the shaking. Got a blurry but cool shot of the big dark patches on the moon.

Holding it still is the worst part. @nancyn69, I just use a cheap phone clamp on a tripod now, way less blurry.

Try using your phone's voice assistant to take the picture hands-free. I set mine on a stack of books, aim the camera through my binoculars, and just say "Hey Siri, take a picture." It completely cuts out the button-press shake. You still get the blur from the binoculars, but at least your hands aren't causing it. Makes a big difference for those moon shots.
