Pro tip: the lady at the DMV in Reno asked me one question that saved me 3 trips
I went to the DMV on S. Virginia St. in Reno last month to renew my license and the lady at the counter asked if I wanted to update my voter registration while I was there. I said sure, and she told me I could get a REAL ID at the same time for no extra charge. I had been putting that off for 2 years because I thought it was a whole separate appointment. Took 20 extra minutes instead of another trip across town and a new fee. Nobody at the front desk or the website ever told me you can do all three at once, you just have to ask. So my question is, what other government stuff can you stack into one visit that nobody bothers to mention? I feel like I've been wasting my Saturdays for no reason.
Did the voter registration update actually go through right then and there, or did they just hand you a form to mail in later? That part matters because a lot of folks assume the DMV is submitting it for you when really you're just walking out with paper. What did the receipt or confirmation say when you left?
