My boss said 'stop fixing it, just report it' and that flipped my whole approach

I work front desk at a dental office in Columbus. I used to spend 20 minutes after every shift trying to fix the scheduling software glitches myself. My manager caught me at 6 PM last Tuesday and said, 'You're not paid to be tech support, log the bug and move on.' I switched to just writing detailed notes in the shared tracker, and honestly my evenings are way less stressful now. But I worry the issues pile up for the next person. Has anyone else had to fight the urge to fix something just because you saw it first?

Did you ever stop to think that burning yourself out helps nobody, because I sure didn't until my boss said the same thing?
