I swore forum search bars were useless until someone told me to just type the question in plain words
For a long time I would hunt through old threads by guessing at tags and keywords, and half the time I gave up and just posted a new question that had been answered ten times already. Then a guy on a woodworking forum said to me, "Stop searching like a machine, search like you're asking a guy across the table," and I tried it that same day. Typed "why does my table saw burn the edges" into the search box and the fourth result had the exact fix I needed, a $12 thin kerf blade. Last week I found answers to three different questions in under five minutes each. Has searching in plain sentences worked for you, or does it flop on certain forums?
